Martha Karua was born on 22 September 1957, in Kirinyaga District, Kenya. She is currently 64. She was a long-standing member of Parliament from Gichugu Constituency, and is also an advocate for the High Court of Kenya. Martha was the Minister of Justice from April 2009 to her resignation. She has tirelessly fought for Women’s rights and the improvement of the Democratic process. Martha was third among Narc-Kenya’s highest-ranking women to run for the presidency. In the 2022 Kenyan general elections, she was elected to the position of deputy president.
